USB Redirector Client is a lightweight software application developed by IncentivesPro that allows a computer to access and use USB devices remotely over a network. It acts as the receiving end of a connection, tricking your local operating system into thinking a remote USB peripheral is plugged directly into your machine. How it Works (Server vs. Client)
To use the client, you must understand the two-part system required for redirection:
USB Redirector (Server Part): Installed on the host computer where the USB device is physically plugged in. This machine “shares” the device over the network.
USB Redirector Client (Client Part): Installed on your local computer. It connects to the server over a LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, or the Internet to access that shared device. Key Features
Background Service: Operates as a Windows background service, meaning it runs silently even if you close the application interface, log out, or reboot the machine.
Broad Device Support: Works with virtually any USB hardware, including storage drives, smartphones, license dongles, printers, and specialized medical or industrial equipment.
Damaged Port Workaround: Allows computers with broken or completely missing physical USB ports to still interact with USB hardware over the network.
Persistent Connections: Automatically attempts to reconnect to the USB server if the network drops or experiences interruptions. Core Use Cases USB Redirector – Genuine Remote USB Sharing Over Network
