GemRB (Game Engine Made with pre-Rendered Backgrounds) is a portable, open-source implementation of BioWare’s Infinity Engine. It allows you to run classic isometric Dungeons & Dragons RPGs on almost any modern operating system or device.
Because the original game binaries from the late 1990s and early 2000s do not natively support modern hardware or alternative platforms, GemRB functions as a complete engine replacement.
